A 3-day Destination Wedding Celebration that comprised 70 guests and 4 exquisite venues in Bali. Hilton Bali Resort at Nusa Dua was the perfect host for an intimate and exhilarating celebration such as this. Our journey of Band Baaja Bali starts at the ever-so-perfect host Hilton Bali Resort in Nusa Dua. Perched atop a 40-meter cliff overlooking the Indian Ocean, Hilton Bali Resort is famous for its breathtaking views, extensive recreation facilities, magnificent indoor/outdoor event space, and unique ocean-facing wedding venues.

01WelcomeThe guests of Selva and Sneha were received by ladies in traditional Balinese wear. The guests were welcomed with garlands of firangipani and welcome bags filled with goodies and agenda cards explaining the event and its details. Hilton played a lovely host that evening for their welcome dinner.17 photographs→
02Bali Ahoy! (Mehendi)The Mehendi on board the Sea Safari Cruise on the waters of Bali was an exhilarating start to the celebrations of the Selva Sneha Wedding. The pirate ship was decked up with color-splashed banners and lined with long flags. The exquisite dream-catchers and lanterns added to the decor under the glorious blue skies of Bali.
Mehendi on the cruise saw the guests dancing and swaying to the dance steps of Can-Can and Brazilian dancers. Interactive games initiated by emcee Shilpa Menon alongside invigorating music played by DJ Ryan and DJ Shamil accelerated the celebratory vibe on the cruise. All guests were given funky sunshades to wear while they cruised through the Indian Ocean.20 photographs→
03Kamso Express (Sangeet)The Sangeet Night called the Kamso Express took place at the Kupu Kupu Amphitheatre in Hitlon, Bali. Located at the bottom of the Hilton cliff, the rustic vintage amphitheatre was overlooked by a majestic Balinese Deity monument from in between a lush green enclosure. The cave-structured amphitheatre was lit up and decked in exotic Balinese-themed Panjors, Balinese umbrellas, and fire torches. The wooden cross-back chairs were laid around the square and round-shaped patio tables gorgeously across the amphitheatre. The Firangipani centrepieces added to the Balinese charm.
A 10-minute specially orchestrated grand fusion show of Agni Puja fire dancers and Dancing Pyro welcomed the couple on to the stage on their sangeet night. The guests were intrigued by the LED water drummers and LED Butterfly dancers. Renowned vocalists Gowri Lekshmi and Niranj wooed the guests onto the dance floor with energizing songs that went on through the night.22 photographs→
04Thirumanam (Wedding)The next day, the mesmerizing cliffside of the Kuta Golf Club witnessed the magical wedding ceremony ‘Thirumanam’ of Selva and Sneha. The beauteous cloud formations and ravishing views of the Indian Ocean set a marvelous backdrop for this fairytale-like wedding.
The entourage for the grand entry was led by dashing Balinese polis officers on Indonesian Yamaha motorbikes, who led the way for Scooby-doo-themed colorful VW Combis that transferred the guests to the venue. They were followed by the bride and groom with their friends in a couple of handsome Mercedes Convertibles. At the venue, the couple were greeted by Pendet female dancers and guided to the Mandap by Baris male performers holding Balinese umbrellas and cute little Balinese kids in traditional south Indian dhoti and angavastram with folded hands.
The vedic wedding ceremony ended with excited cheer, a flower shower, and happy applauds by all. A life-size 5 feet name marquee of the couple was placed beside the mandap for guests to click panoramic photos. Everyone was treated to a lip-smacking Tamil Sadya with 34 food items on sadya leaves. 05Twilight (Reception)A formal western sit-down dinner reception ’Twilight’ was held at the Graha Sawangan Ballroom in Hilton on the evening of the wedding. Exquisite long-stem floral centrepieces in pastel colours adorned the round tables laid out gorgeously in the ballroom. The Newlyweds head table overflowed with floral gorgeousness. The acrylic dance floor added to the appeal of the LED wall stage. The reception proved to be a classic culmination of the big fat Indian wedding celebrations in Bali.
The night bore testament to a romantic first dance by the couple followed by an exchange of the wedding cake. This was followed by heart-warming toasts from friends of the couple cheering and congratulating their union. The groom, Selvakumar was speechless when he received a surprise wish from his sister all the way from the US through a live Skype call on the LED Wall. Though she couldn’t make it to her beloved brother’s wedding, Rainmaker made sure that she got to witness the magnificence of Band Baaja Bali through the virtual world. Keshav Films enthralled the guests with the same-day edit wedding video highlights complete with amazing drone shots of the wedding venue and the ceremony. Guests celebrated the final night of the Selva Sneha wedding swaying alongside Bollywood dancers and vocalists Gowry & Niranj.10 photographs→
